Toronto confirmed the news on Twitter, also mentioning that Lowry would be receiving further treatment on the injury over the weekend.

Cory Joseph earned the start Saturday in Lowry's place. Serge Ibaka also made his first start since getting sent to Toronto from the Magic.

Lowry is averaging 22.8 points, 6.9 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game. The Raptors (33-24) are currently fourth in the Eastern Conference standings.

Should Lowry miss extended time, Joseph and recently promoted Fred VanVleet will see more minutes on the court.
