Kristaps Porzingis has been the toast of the NBA this season, but that has come with a price.
The Knicks rookie said he learned that the hard way over the All-Star break when a trip to the Caribbean wasn’t quite as relaxing as he would have liked.

"I didn't have a lot of space," Porzingis said Wednesday, via ESPN.com. "There were a lot of people from New York, and I was taking a lot of pictures. Whenever I walked out, there was a lot of autograph (seekers), pictures, and I didn't really get a chance to relax like 100 percent. But it was good to spend time with the family."
The rookie from Latvia has been one of the big surprises of the first half of the NBA season. The fourth overall pick has averaged 13.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game through 54 contests.
The All-Star break allowed Porzingis to get away from New York for a little while, and it was an eye-opening experience for the 20-year-old.
"This just showed me that I'm not a normal person anymore, especially when there a lot of people who recognize you, a lot of people who want to take pictures because I'm tall (7-3)," he said. "I can't really hide it. That's a problem. I have to change plans from now on.”
