Thunder guard Josh Giddey has really hit his stride in Year 2, evolving his game on the offensive end.
He continued to show off his aggressive mindset in Oklahoma City's win over Chicago with 25 points, 10 rebounds and six assists — but the Australian star was trending on social media for non-basketball reasons during the game.
Late in the third quarter of the Thunder's victory, Bulls announcer Adam Amin drew a parallel between Giddey and Academy Award- and Golden Globe-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet.

"The NBA's version of Timothée Chalamet inbounds to [Mike] Muscala," Amin said as Giddey passed the ball to his teammate.

The comparison went viral as NBA fans all over Twitter claimed they'll never unsee Giddey and Chalamet as doppelgängers.
This wasn't the first time the comparison has been made, as The Athletic's draft analyst, Sam Vecenie, has commonly referred to Giddey as "NBA Chalamet."
After the game, once Giddey was able to get to his phone and hop on social media, he put his own spin on the nickname.

"Himothee Chalamet" has a nice ring to it. Giddey may have just coined himself a new Basketball-Reference nickname.
Giddey is starting to break out this season, averaging 18.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 6.0 assists while shooting 49.7 percent from the field and 37.1 percent from 3-point range over his last 10 games. The Thunder have gone 6-4 in that stretch and find themselves in the Play-In Tournament and NBA Playoff mix at 20-23 overall.
