Embiid, among the leading MVP candidates when he got injured, suffered a bone bruise in a game against the Washington Wizards on March 13 and has been sidelined since.
At the time of his injury, which occurred in his left knee, the 7'0" center was averaging 29.9 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 blocks per game in 31 appearances.
Saturday's game against the Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves is the team's first home game since beginning a six-game road trip on March 22.
In Embiid's absence, the 76ers have gone 6-3 so far and will also suit up without him on Friday in Cleveland - the last of their six straight on the road.
