The third overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft isn't just satisfied with finally getting on to the court, he's looking to make a big impact for the 76ers this season.

"I feel like I’m the best player on the floor," he said via Philly.com at the start of his team's training camp on Wednesday (AEST).

"So I’m just going to do my job on the floor. I’m just going to do what coach (Brett Brown) wants me to do: Be a defensive piece, and when I’m needed to be a scorer, I’m going to be that."

On Thursday (AEST) the team posted a photo of him dunking over teammate Nerlens Noel at practice, so he very well could be telling the truth.

The 218cm centre is preparing to see his first action this season after being drafted out of Kansas over two years ago.

The NBA, particularly 76ers fans, will be eager to see if the big guy was worth the wait.
