Jimmy Butler's toughness was missed in his Timberwolves' 116-108 chippy loss to the Utah Jazz on Saturday (AEDT).

However, the All-Star liked what he saw out of his team in a losing effort. Butler who rarely tweets took to Twitter to express his support for his teammates Jeff Teague who drilled Ricky Rubio with a body check.

The controversial play earned Teague a flagrant-two foul and an ejection.

Butler wasn't done there as he tweeted words of warning toward Jazz forward Jae Crowder, who got into with Teague and later Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau.

Crowder responded to Butler, and clarified later that the tweet was more playful then malicious.

The 28-year-old Butler is currently out of action with a torn meniscus in his right knee. His timeline for return is four-to-six weeks.

The two Northwest divisional foes will do battle for the final time this year on April 2 (AEDT).
