As expected, Ja Morant announced this week that he will enter the 2019 NBA Draft.

Morant leaves Murray State following two impressive seasons. As a freshman, he averaged 12.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. As a sophomore, he bumped those numbers up to 24.5 points and 10.0 assists while also pulling down 5.7 rebounds per game.

With those averages, Morant became the first player in NCAA history to average 20 points and 10 assists since the stat became official in 1983-84. He also made history in the NCAA tournament by becoming only the eighth player to officially record a triple-double with 17 points, 16 assists and 11 rebounds against Marquette in the first round.

Morant then posted 28 points (8-21 FG), five rebounds, four assists and two steals in Murray State's 90-62 loss to Florida State in the second round.

Morant is widely considered to be one of the top prospects in the upcoming draft. NBADraft.net currently has him projected to go second behind Zion Williamson, and Tankathon has him going third behind Williamson and R.J. Barrett.

ESPN, meanwhile, has him as the No. 2 prospect in its draft rankings.

Morant is an explosive guard who can create consistent offense for himself and others. His jump shot is seen as his greatest weakness, but he made 36.3 percent of his 3-point attempts as a sophomore, up from 30.7 percent as a freshman.

Morant has been compared to the likes of De'Aaron Fox and Russell Westbrook because of his style of play.
