Remember when the Grizzlies got into a heated verbal altercation with Shannon Sharpe during a game against the Lakers? Memphis' social media team certainly did.
In the middle of a Jan. 20 contest in Los Angeles, Grizzlies players and Ja Morant's father, Tee, exchanged words with the Fox Sports personality. The trash talk appeared to hit another level when Sharpe hopped out of his courtside seat to yell in the direction of Dillon Brooks.

Steven Adams and the rest of Memphis' roster walked toward Sharpe before the Hall of Famer turned his attention to Tee. Crypto.com Arena security stepped in to prevent the incident from escalating any further.

"They do all that talking and jockeying and I ain't about that jockeying," Sharpe told ESPN's Dave McMenamin at the game. "It started with Dillon Brooks. ... And then Ja came out of nowhere talking. He definitely didn't want these problems. Then the dad came and he obviously didn't want no problems.
"But I wanted anything they had. Don't let these fools fool you now."

Los Angeles rallied to capture a 122-121 win that night, much to the delight of Sharpe, a huge LeBron James fan.
Tuesday was a different story. The Grizzlies handed a 121-109 defeat to the Lakers, who were playing without James for the first time since he suffered a foot injury that could sideline him for an extended stretch. Memphis celebrated on Twitter by telling Los Angeles and Sharpe to hold the L.

Sharpe, who later apologized for his behavior on an episode of FS1's "Undisputed," couldn't help but laugh at the tweet.

Fans of both teams won't have to wait long to see the next matchup in this burgeoning rivalry. The Grizzlies and Lakers will meet for the final time this season on Tuesday, March 7.
