Pulling on the green and gold is the dream of every young Australian basketballer, and they will soon get the chance to try it on virtually, with NBA 2K23 announcing that players can purchase and wear the Boomers uniform for their MyPLAYER.

Announced today, Basketball Australia and NBA 2K have reached an agreement that allows players to don the iconic uniform in The City (available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S), or the G.O.A.T Boat (available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch consoles, and PC platforms).

This is only the second time in 2K history that players were able to don the Australian national team's threads, with the first coming in NBA 2K17, but with Australian hoops flourishing both domestically and in the NBA, the time was ripe to let Aussie players sport their national colours.

"Representing Australia and wearing a Boomers jersey has always been a goal of mine," said Australian NBA player Josh Giddey.

"Being able to play NBA 2K23 wearing the Boomers kit, the iconic green and gold, is an amazing addition to the game this year.

"I cannot wait to walk around The City and bump into fellow Aussies proudly wearing their Boomers jersey."

But according to Basketball Australia CEO Matt Scriven, the appeal of the Boomers jersey is not just for Australians, but for all international basketball fans.

"We are proud to be partnering up with NBA 2K to deliver the iconic Boomers kit to audiences all over the world," Scriven said.

"The addition of the green and gold uniform will be huge for basketball fans to represent their country in NBA 2K23."

Players can buy the Boomers uniform at JT’s Sporting Goods in The City, or Rowe’s Sporting Goods in The G.O.A.T Boat, when NBA 2K23 drops on September 9th.
