There's a redheaded fan watching the Celtics play the Pacers in Game 2 in Boston. That might sound like a number of fans at the TD Garden, but not all of them have four Grammys to their name.
Both statements apply to Ed Sheeran, however.
The English singer-songwriter is in Boston ready to root on the Cs as video showed him wearing a Celtics sweatshirt before Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Sheeran is a noted football fan — English Football League, that is. He is a follower of Ipswich Town F.C., the team in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, the county from which Sheeran was raised.
Plenty of people will show up to arenas, pick up a sweatshirt and represent the local team. Is Sheeran a true Celtics fan or is he just in town checking out the Castle on North Station?

Is Ed Sheeran a Celtics fan?
Certainly, his appearance at the Celtics game would appear to indicate Sheeran is a Celtics fan. However, he has not spoken publicly about fan allegiances, making it unclear if he is a true Boston fan or if he's just taking in the sights.
Sheeran is performing at Boston Calling, New England's largest music festival, in Boston on Friday, meaning he might have some time on his hands before the show begins.
He likely won't be around Indiana for Game 3, as he'll be playing at Bottlerock in California on May 26, the day before the two sides are set to face off. Following that, he'll be starting the European leg of his latest tour, with stops in Italy and Germany in June.
Where is Ed Sheeran from?
Sheeran was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. He lived in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, as well as Framlingham, Suffolk, England.
Though Sheeran is from England, his parents are both Irish, per the Irish Independent.
