The Hawks' new centre addressed the swirling gossip about his back on Saturday.
The 30-year-old assured his back isn’t a problem, now or going forward.
“My back hasn’t been an issue, and I don’t think I’ll ever have an issue out of my back for the rest of my career,” he told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution .
Howard underwent surgery to repair a herniated disk on in his back in 2012 while still a member of the Magic.
He has never averaged 20 points or more per game since the procedure, after topping that mark four times in his first eight seasons.
