After missing 16 games with back soreness earlier this season, Utah Jazz power forward Derrick Favors is back in action. But he has an unusual explanation for why he missed so many games.

"[I need to] try not to sleep on my stomach basically," he said via The Salt Lake Tribune. "I think that’s what caused it. I try everything, man. Just try to stay on my back. If I feel like I’m turning over, I try to wake up. Just stay on my back."

The 24-year-old also bought a new mattress, citing that as an issue.

"I’m in the process of of changing my mattress now," he said, adding that he was looking for something firmer. "It wasn’t soft, but it was kind of outdated. I had it for a couple of years."

Whatever the reason, the most important thing for Utah is having its star back on the court. Favors is averaging 16.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game this season and provides a nice high-low game with small forward Gordon Hayward.
