The Spurs lost one of the greatest power forwards in Tim Duncan to retirement, and in typical Spurs fashion haven't skipped a beat.
MORE: Sacramento Kings' new arena 'a borderline miracle' to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver
Most teams would be crippled by the loss of a future Hall of Famer, but San Antonio always seems to reload with talent year in and year out.
Although the Spurs made a splash signing last off-season winning the LaMarcus Aldrdige sweepstakes, make no mistake about it, this is now Kawhi Leonard's team.
The Spurs defeated the Kings 102-94 in Sacramento's first game of the year. Leonard had his second 30-point game in as many games, leaving many in awe including Kings' center DeMarcus Cousins.
After the game Cousins told reporters that Leonard reminds him of recently retired Kobe Bryant.
"He was hitting shots over two guys," Cousins told reporters. "I heard he was working with Kobe, and there were some flashes of Kobe tonight."
A season ago, during Bryant's retirement tour, Head Coach Gregg Popovich asked him to mention the young Spurs' forward.
Two games into the season, and it appears as though the black mamba is rubbing off on Leonard.
