It’s hard to explain why Clippers big man DeAndre Jordan is such a horrendous free-throw shooter, but J.J. Redick has a theory — he’s not really left-handed.
“He jumps off his left foot, which is how most right-handed people jump," Redick said, via The Orange County Register. "Their left foot is their dominant foot. He shoots every single jump hook, and tonight, running hook, with his right hand. He finishes around the basket with his right hand. He’s really good at it.”

But Jordan shoots his free throws (badly) left-handed. He’s only 41.9 percent from the charity stripe in his career, but swears he’s using the correct hand even though he golfs, bowls and throws right-handed.
“I tried to shoot with my right hand, and it was pretty much the same. Maybe worse,” he said. “I think I’m going to stick with the left because I’ve been practicing that for awhile.”
Regardless, Jordan’s struggles and abilities on the court are perplexing enough to the point where Paul Pierce, a 17-year NBA veteran, said he “can’t tell half the time” which is Jordan’s good hand.
