Exum's deal with the Spanish powerhouse expired on Feb. 28 as he was initially brought on as injury cover for Nick Calathes, however, he had impressed head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius saying he was "delighted" with the Australian.
“Due to many circumstances, he hasn’t had continuity, although for reasons that haven’t to do with him,” Jasikevicius said at the beginning of February. “But we are delighted with him. This last game was an important step and I hope it gives him a lot of confidence.”
Exum said he was excited to stay on with Barcelona.
"I'm super excited to have the opportunity to stay here and hopefully fight for a EuroLeague and ACB title," he said.

Since his arrival last December, Exum featured in 17 games - 11 in the Euroleague, three in the Endesa League and three in the Copa del Rey.
In the prestigious EuroLeague, he had averages of six points, (53 percent shooting from distance) and 2.7 rebounds in 16 minutes per game, while in domestic competition he averaged 6.3 points in 17 minutes per game.
His best game came against Real Madrid in the Euroleague with 13 points and three rebounds.
On Feb. 20 Barcelona defeated rivals Madrid to win the final of the Copa del Rey.
Exum has always stated that his goal is to return to the NBA, but that dream will likely have to wait until next season now.
