But that's as close as they got, after Luka Doncic fouled out of the game seconds earlier, leaving the Celtics to ice the game thanks to a putback from Jaylen Brown and a Derrick White 3-pointer.
Brown poured in 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in the win, while Jayson Tatum led the way with 31 points.
For Dallas, Kyrie Irving had his best game of the Finals with 35 points, while Luka Doncic added 27 points, six rebounds and six assists before fouling out.
