Isaiah Thomas' long-awaited debut is finally upon us, but we'll have to wait until February to see him play against his former squad.

Thomas will make his Cavaliers debut on Wednesday (AEDT) vs the Portland Trail Blazers after recovering from a hip injury that held him out of the lineup for the team's first 36 games.

Despite Thomas being ready for action, Cleveland will be cautious putting the 28-year-old on a minutes restriction and will keep him out of the lineup when the Cavs visit Boston on a back-to-back Thursday (AEDT).

I.T. has voiced his opinion on his exit from Beantown but told reporters he's at peace with the decision.

"It won't be that tough 'cause I know where I am right now. I wouldn't wanna put myself out there to just try to force it," Thomas told via Cavs.com on Tuesday (AEDT)

"I can wait until February. I think we play them in February again. I can wait and put on a show then."

With Thomas missing his first chance to play in Boston since being traded for Kyrie Irving in the off-season, he'll have to wait to put on his "show" February 12 (AEDT) when Cleveland makes their second and final trip to TD Garden in the regular season.
