One of the biggest surprises of the 2023 NBA Playoffs has been the sensational play of Heat forward Caleb Martin.

The 27-year-old has embraced the bright lights of the postseason, averaging 13.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game throughout Miami's impressive run to the Finals. He had a real case to be named Eastern Conference Finals MVP, especially after lighting up Boston for 26 points in a Game 7 victory, but lost out to his teammate Jimmy Butler. 

However, he popped up on the Heat's injury report ahead of Game 2 against the Nuggets. With the team trailing 1-0 in the series, it would be a major blow to lose the red-hot Martin for a critical matchup in Denver.

Is Caleb Martin playing tonight vs. Nuggets?

According to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, Martin did not practice with the team on Saturday due to an unspecified illness.

Despite his inability to practice on Saturday, the Heat have ruled Martin available to play in Game 2. He looks to bounce back after scoring just three points on 1-for-7 shooting in the series opener.
