Lakers coach Byron Scott isn't letting up on his team.

Despite the fact they currently hold a 20-56 record — the most losses in franchise history — Scott is still trying to work with his squad. At very least, he's figuring out which players he does and doesn't want to keep around. Never one to hold his tongue, Scott made it known just how little he trusts some of his players.

"I got a sense of a whole lot of them I wouldn't want to be in a fox hole with," Scott said. "I think they'd end up shooting me in the back. So I've got a pretty good sense of the guys that I think are going to be around, that we will build around, build together in this process and go through it."

The Lakers suffered through arguably the worst season the franchise has ever seen, so why is Scott so adamant about continuing rigorous training?

"The first thing is, I don't quit," Scott said. "And when April 15 comes or April 16 and we look up that next day, then I'll know the season is over."

Luckily, there have been some bright spots for the coach. Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle have worked closely with Scott, eager to learn all they can. Scot said he had a sit-down with the two rookies to "teach those guys what it is to be a professional in this league and how to come to work every single day and get better."

Hopefully they are two he wants in his fox hole.
