Bronny James mock drafts: Warriors, Lakers among potential landing spots in latest NBA Draft projections image

USC freshman Bronny James has decided to forgo his remaining college eligibility to enter the 2024 NBA Draft. With James' decision set in stone, the next focus is where he'll land.

The son of Lakers superstar LeBron James, Bronny is working to carve his own career path during his draft journey.

At USC, James experienced cardiac arrest in the lead-up to his freshman season. After recovering from the cardiac event, he returned to action to average 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in a reserve role — numbers that don't necessarily equate to a surefire draft selection.

Still, reports indicate there is a significant chance James will hear his name called during the NBA Draft. As the intrigue around James grows, he is expected to visit with at least the Lakers and Suns, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Where might James land in this year's draft? Here is where USC's freshman lands in the latest NBA Mock Drafts.

ESPN: Golden State Warriors (No. 52 overall)

It's not a major leap but James has risen from undrafted (May 12) to 54th overall (May 22) to 52nd (May 31) in ESPN's mock draft projections. Golden State would be an intriguing landing spot as it deviates from most projections that send him to the Lakers, presumably to pair him with his father.

Bleacher Report: Los Angeles Lakers (No. 55 overall)

B/R's Jonathan Wasserman has James landing at 55 as a "risk-free" pick with potential due to his strengths and profile as a 3-and-D point guard. The Lakers' connection with his dad is undoubtedly a factor as well.

NetScouts: Los Angeles Lakers (No. 55 overall)

NetScouts is another publication that has James staying in Los Angeles to land with the Lakers. Before the NBA Draft Combine, NetScouts did not have James listed on its mock draft, signaling a slight leap in the 19-year-old's draft stock.

USA Today/College Sports Wire: Los Angeles Lakers (No. 55 overall)

It's no coincidence that a number of publications believe the Lakers will select James. In addition to his father's status with the franchise, Bronny James is reportedly working out with the franchise. The interest is tangible.
