Setting records for all the wrong reasons didn't stop Brett Brown from getting a new contract.

The Sixers announced that they agreed to a two-year extension with their 54-year-old coach. The new deal runs through the 2018-19 season, but Brown's pay was not disclosed.

Brown's extension comes weeks after his team set the record for the most consecutive losses (28) and tied a record for futility to open a season at 0-18. The team is 1-22 after Philadelphia's 100-91 loss to Brooklyn on Thursday.

Since being hired to coach the team prior to the 2013-14 season, Brown has compiled a 38-149 record.
