It seems like Aron Baynes has found a home in Boston.

The Celtics were a team that desperately needed rebounding, interior defense and toughness so they signed Baynes to a one-year 4.3 million dollar contract in the off-season.

On Thursday (AEDT), the 30-year-old Boomer tied a career-high with 21 points, eight rebounds in the Celtics' tenth win in a row.

He's clearly exceeded the value of his contract and is now setting himself up for a major payday at the end of this season.

While on Thursday he gave the C's a scoring lift without Al Horford, his biggest impact this season has been felt on the defensive end.

Coming into the game against the Lakers, Boston were statistically the best defensive team in the league - Baynes is a huge part of that.

Ben Simmons is getting a lot of the hype in Australia with his play and rightfully so, but what Baynes is doing on a team that is a legit championship contender shouldn't go unnoticed.
