Bill de Blasio didn't face a serious challenge before being re-elected mayor of New York earlier this month, but a handful of voters used their ballots to send a message: If someone can star at Yankee Stadium or Madison Square Garden, why not City Hall?

A complete audit of results from the city's mayoral election shows Yankees rookie sensation Aaron Judge and Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis each received 10 write-in votes for mayor. Or, to be completely accurate, Kristaps Porzingis received nine write-in votes and "Kristaps Porzinais" received one.

Those two weren't the only "candidates" from the sports world to get a bit of love among the 1,166,313 votes cast. Among other notables receiving at least one write-in vote were Colin Kaepernick, LaVar Ball, Derek Jeter, Joe Girardi, Joe Torre, Eli Manning, Ezekiel Elliott, Darryl Strawberry and Pete Rose.

Beyond sports, write-in votes went to HIllary (and Bill) Clinton, Donald Trump, Barack (and Michelle) Obama, Beyonce, Alec Baldwin, Jesus Christ, Alexander Hamilton and Bugs Bunny, among many more.
