Kurt Capewell has broken his silence on a sex tape scandal that has haunted him privately for years after a video filmed in 2013 resurfaced in recent days.
The Penrith and Queensland Maroons star told his side of the story to The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday.
Capewell claims he was coerced into appearing in the adult film after attending what he thought was a modelling photo shoot seven years ago.
The now 27-year-old representative star was an apprentice carpenter playing for the Ipswich Jets at the time the video was shot.

According to News Corp Australia , Capewell contacted police in 2019 when an individual was allegedly attempting to sell the explicit images.
He also informed the NRL Integrity Unit about the issue last year.
But Capewell was this week forced to come clean to his team-mates and felt compelled to tell his story for the first time.
In 2019 the Panthers’ season was derailed by a sex tape scandal involving Tyrone May.
The Penrith five-eighth last December pleaded guilty to four charges of intentionally recording an intimate image without consent and was sentenced to 300 hours of community service .
It is unclear whether the NRL Integrity Unit will take any action against Capewell, however the fact the tape was filmed seven years ago could work in his favour.
The back-rower made his NRL debut for the Cronulla Sharks in 2016, playing 64 games for The Shire club before joining the Panthers last season.
He was limited to nine appearances for the 2020 minor premiers due to a knee injury suffered in Round 5.
Capewell made his State of Origin debut for the Queensland Maroons in November.
He played all three games including the first two out of position at centre as the Maroons scored an upset 2-1 series victory over the NSW Blues.
