NASCAR at Talladega: Rain cuts Friday’s practice session short image

Rain forced NASCAR officials to cancel the remainder of the Friday's practice at Talladega Superspeedway.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers were able to get on the track briefly before rainy conditions ended the practice session for good.

Clint Bowyer was the fastest Friday, turning a lap at 196.822 mph in his No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford. Kevin Harvick was second at 196.439 mph, while Brad Keselowski, Kurt Busch and Joey Logano rounded out the top five.

Thankfully for NASCAR teams and fans, the weather forecast looks much better for Saturday's Cup series qualifying and Xfinity race.
