Jack Miller will join KTM for the 2023 MotoGP season, signing a two-year contract with the Austrian-based team.

The Australian has been with Ducati for the past five years and will continue to race for them until the season ends in November.

Rumours had picked up in recent weeks that the team was looking to replace Miller with Enea Bastianini, forming an all-Italian lineup with Francesco Bagnaia.

In his time with Ducati, the 27-year-old picked up two race wins, coming in consecutive weekends at Jerez, Spain and Le Mans, France in 2021.

Miller was originally offered a ride with KTM in 2019 to replace the departing Johann Zarco for 2020 but opted to stay with Ducati.

He will now partner with Brad Binder in 2023, taking the position of the outgoing Miguel Oliveira.

There will also be a familiar face to greet him at KTM, with Miller's former Ducati boss Francesco Guidotti the current team manager.

“Having Jack [Miller] alongside Brad [Binder] in our team means we have another strong asset," Guidotti said.

"I know him well, I know how he likes to work and what he can bring to the box.

“I believe his character and the way he will ride and push our KTM RC16 will help us a lot at this stage of our project.

"[Miller] is a pure racer - he will find the limits and the maximum of any condition and any package and still ‘go for it’ to get the result and that is quite a rare quality.

"The next two seasons will be exciting.”

Miller currently sits in ninth place in the 2022 rider standings with 65 points.

He has earned two podiums this season but is yet to claim a race win.
