One of the most iconic days on the Australian sporting calendar is upon us, with the annual Bathurst 1000 race set for Sunday, October 8th at the famous Mount Panorama.
Thousands of fans from across the country have descended upon the country town for the trademark event over the course of the weekend, with time trials and qualifying beginning on Thursday.
Last year, Shane van Gisbergen took out the race for a second time but will need to work his way past pole-sitter and championship leader Brodie Kostecki to defend his crown.
And in a major boost for Supercars fans, the weather gods look set to be on their side in Bathurst this Sunday.

Bathurst 1000 weather: Will it rain on Sunday?
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, there is no chance of any rain during Sunday's race, with plenty of sun forecast.

When is the Bathurst 1000?
This year's edition of the Bathurst 1000 is taking place between Thursday, October 5 and Sunday, October 8.
An endurance spectacle, the main race will begin at 11.15 am AEDT on Sunday, concluding at approximately 6:00 pm.
