The Bathurst 1000 is underway, with Mount Panorama playing host to Australia's most iconic motorsport event.

When does the Bathurst 1000 start? 2023 race time
The 2023 edition of the Bathurst 1000 is taking place over four days between Thursday, October 5 and Sunday, October 8.
An endurance spectacle, the main race began at 11:15 am AEDT on Sunday, October 8.
Bathurst 1000 finish time: Estimated schedule for chequered flag
This year's race is expected to conclude at approximately 6:00 pm AEDT.
Drivers will push to the limit around Mount Panorama for almost seven hours, completing 161 laps.
The finish time will, of course, depend on how the race pans out, with any crashes or safety cars a chance to slow down proceedings.
Bathurst 1000 grid: Who started on pole position?
Brodie Kostecki recorded a lightning-fast 2:04.271 lap to take out the Top 10 Shootout and lock in pole position for Sunday's Bathurst 1000.
The championship leader was last out on Saturday having qualified fastest and he showed just why, posting a lap time almost half a second faster than Broc Feeney in second.
The result saw Kostecki and co-driver David Russell start on pole in their Coca-Cola Camaro, alongside Feeney and Jamie Whincup in the Red Bull Ampol Camaro.
Cam Waters rounded out the placings in the Top 10 Shootout, recording a time of 2:04.777 to finish third.
Reigning champion Shane van Gisbergen started the race in sixth position.
