Nothing pairs with the roar of a Supercar engine like a pre-mixed Jack and coke, or even 24 of them.

Mount Panorama's famously generous BYO guidelines give punters plenty to work with, but unfortunately, they too were scrapped when camping was ruled out.

That means this year you'll have to purchase any alchohol at the event.

For the curious, or those fans hoping for a return to normal in 2022, we've summarised the guidelines here.

The main rule of thumb - you're allowed to bring in a case of beer for every day you attend, though it can’t all be at once.

What does that mean? You can't bring in three slabs if you’re going to be there for three days. You can only bring in a day’s ration at a time. If anything, it avoids a first night fever-type scenario, which we’re all susceptible to.

The slab-a-day restrictions at Mount Panaroma have been in place since 2007.

Below is what each person is allowed to bring in each day.

  • 1 x carton of full-strength beer (5 per cent alcohol or less) - 24 cans x 375mls or less, or
  • 1 x carton of light / mid strength beer (3.5 per cent alcohol or less) - 30 cans x 375mls or less, or
  • 1 x carton of pre-mixed spirits (6 per cent alcohol or less) - 24 cans x 375mls, or
  • 1 x carton of cider (5 per cent alcohol or less) - 24 cans x 375mls, or
  • 1 x cask of sealed wine (14.5 per cent alcohol or less) totalling 4 litres or less, or
  • 2 x 375ml plastic bottles of spirits (38 per cent alcohol or less) - must be the original manufacturer's product with seal unopened, or
  • 1 x 750ml bottle of spirits (plastic only)

DIY sampler packs aren’t allowed and you can't tick off all of these options; it's a carton of Tin Bailey's or a pillow-sized goon bag.

"If you arrive with all four days alcohol supply on or prior to Thursday, all but your single day supply will be confiscated and disposed of," Supercars said in a statement.

"There is no storage facility for excess alcohol so please make yourself aware of these limits prior to attending the event.

"Failure to comply with these limits and abuse of gate staff regarding these regulations may result in denied entry or removal from the campgrounds."
