Bathurst 1000 results: Shane van Gisbergen and Richie Stanaway winners of Mount Panorama 2023 race image

The 2023 edition of the Bathurst 1000 has come to a close, with reigning champion Shane van Gisbergen and co-driver Richie Stanaway emerging victorious for Red Bull Ampol Racing.

It marks van Gisbergen's third win at Mount Panorama and is Stanaway's first triumph in the famous race.

After Brodie Kostecki's stellar top-10 shootout performance, David Russell began the day from pole position for Erebus Motorsport but was overtaken by Red Bull's Jamie Whincup at the first turn.

From then on it was a relatively quiet race incident-wise, with only three safety cars throughout the day.

Young gun Broc Feeney was on track for a podium finish alongside Whincup but a late gearbox issue ended their race in cruel fashion.

Van Gisbergen then used all his experience to open up a healthy lead in the final quarter of the race, winning by a hefty 19.9-second margin despite some late steering concerns.

The Sporting News brings you the full results from Sunday's spectacle.
