Australia's most iconic motor race — the Bathurst 1000 — is set for another epic instalment in 2023.

Supercars drivers will be put to the test around Mount Panorama with the goal of emerging victorious on Sunday after four days of action.

When is the Bathurst 1000?

The 2023 edition of the Bathurst 1000 is taking place between Thursday, October 5 and Sunday, October 8.

The event retains its traditional early-October slot for the second consecutive year following some COVID-related disruptions.

An endurance spectacle, the race will begin at 11:15 am AEDT on Sunday, October 8, concluding at approximately 6:00 pm AEDT.

A limited number of general admission and reserved grandstand race day tickets are still available via Ticketek.

All campsites have been sold out.

How to watch the Bathurst 1000: TV channel, streaming

Channel Seven will broadcast the Bathurst 1000 on free-to-air television, with a stream available via 7Plus

Fox Sports will also cover the action, meaning you can watch it on Foxtel or stream it live through Kayo Sports.

How many laps is the Bathurst 1000? Mount Panorama track details

The Mount Panorama Circuit is an historic racing track located in Bathurst, New South Wales.

It is just over 6.2km in length and features two straights — 1.9km and 1.1km in length, respectively.

Drivers will complete 161 laps around the famous track during Sunday's race to meet the 1,000 km mark.

When there isn't a racing event, the circuit is used as a public road.
