Following a quick defeat at the hands of Jon Jones in March, Ciryl Gane looks to hit the reset button. He heads home to face Sergey Spivak as the UFC presents a card in France on September 2.

UFC Paris takes place at the Accor Arena in Paris and will air on ESPN+ in the U.S.

A Muay Thai National Champion, Gane turned pro in 2018 and joined the UFC in 2019. The 33-year-old is 8-2 in the UFC and 1-2 in his last three outings. The former interim UFC heavyweight champion lost in a title fight against Francis Ngannou in January 2022 but recovered against Tai Tuivasa in September of that year. Facing Jones for the vacant title at UFC 285, Gane got put to the ground and was forced to submit in the first round.

Hoping for another crack at gold, Gane will need a convincing performance as Jones faces Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 in November.

In Gane’s way is the streaking Spivak. Turning pro in 2014, Spivak is a former WWFC heavyweight champion. He joined the UFC in 2019 and is 7-3 with the promotion. After having his three-fight win streak broken by Tom Aspinall in 2021, the Moldovan began a new one. Ranked seventh in the UFC's heavyweight rankings, his last bout was a submission victory over Derrick Lewis in February.
