The Brazilian is 2-1 in his last three fights, beating Jonathan Martinez in May after initially retiring. Bautista (14-2) last fought in January and has six wins via submission.

Meanwhile, Stephen Thompson (17-7-1) is 1-3 in his last four fights. "Wonderboy" last fought for welterweight gold in 2016, and the kickboxing champion ranks ninth in the welterweight rankings. UFC 307 preview

Pereira (11-2) took out former champions Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka (2x) this year to retain light heavyweight gold. He is the fastest fighter in UFC history to hold gold in two divisions. The eighth-ranked Rountree (13-5, 1 NC) is on a five-fight win streak. He beat Anthony Smith in his last fight in December but has been out of action since after testing positive for a banned substance.

The co-main event will be Raquel Pennington defending the UFC bantamweight title against Julianna Pena. Pennington (16-8) is on a six-fight win streak, winning the belt in her last fight. The first woman to win The Ultimate Fighter, Pena (11-5) beat Amanda Nunes to win the UFC bantamweight title in 2021 but lost it in a rematch in 2022. That was the last time Pena fought.

Both women competed on The Ultimate Fighter together, but never faced off. This fight is a long time coming.

“We have a history from ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ Somehow we haven’t fought in the last 11 years. It’s a fight that I’ve definitely been looking forward to. I plan on whooping Julianna’s ass and after I whoop her a--, then I would love to take on Kayla," Pennington said via MMA Junkie.
