The UFC light heavyweight title is on the line at UFC 282 on December 10. However, there is no clear champion before the event inside the T-Mobile Arena. Following an injury to Jiri Procazka, a new champion will be crowned.

In the main event, former champion Jan Blachowicz faces Magomed Ankalaev for the belt.

Blachowicz, 39, beat Dominick Reyes for the title in 2020 at UFC 253. After defending the title against Israel Adesanya in March 2021, Blachowicz lost the belt against Glover Teixeira in October 2021. He rebounded with a TKO win over Aleksandar Rakic in May.

The man with "Polish Power" is hungry for gold. His fight with Ankalaev was considered a contender bout. Now, Blachowicz will look to make the most of his opportunity and hold the title above his head once again.

“I have to use this chance,” Blachowicz told UFC.com. “Everybody would use it. It is what it is. I’m happy and excited and ready to bring the belt again to Poland.” “I will be the champion again.”

Ankalaev has won nine straight since losing his first UFC fight against Paul Craig in 2018. In three straight fights, he has beaten contenders in Volkan Oezdemir, Thiago Santos, and Anthony Smith.
