Sean O'Malley is an elite striker ready to jump to boxing if UFC CEO Dana White fully commits to the sport.
He even has an opponent in mind: former undisputed lightweight and WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney.
The former UFC bantamweight champion went on his podcast to discuss various topics, from his loss against Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306 to White expressing interest in boxing after years of discussing it. The man with the colorful personality and hair believes MMA is far superior but would do anything for the right price.
"I feel like I have five, six more good years in me. If the UFC is going to do something with boxing, I would love to f------ [do it]," O'Malley said via MMA Fighting. "That would be so fun. I love MMA, though. It sounds stupid, but I love the wrestling aspect of MMA; I really do. I think it makes fighting so much sweeter. Boxers are f------ p------, dude."

Boxing is the perfect setting for O'Malley's striking ability. He landed 177 head strikes to Kris Moutinho and 150 in a rematch against Marlon Vera. "Suga" landed 22 against Dvalishvili but was cut off by his wrestling, getting dropped six times. He ranks sixth among active fighters in striking differential at 3.31.
White claimed to be "in" on boxing while promoting a fight for Callum Walsh, his prized prospect. Walsh is in the super welterweight division (154), above super lightweight (140), where Haney competes.
O'Malley and Haney have gone back and forth on social media regarding their skills and professions. Haney, who had a loss against Ryan Garcia turned to a no-contest following failed drug tests, recently commented on O'Malley's loss against Dvalishvili. O'Malley decided to fire back with a challenge.
"Devin Haney's a b----. He's such a b----," O'Malley said. "If Devin Haney wants to talk s---, if he really wants to fight, I'll put a million dollars on me vs. him, no time limit, and we can fight. MMA rules, just a fight. Or we can do no rules, if you wanna f------ eye poke me you can. Do a real f------ fight. If you want to talk s--- on Twitter, we can really, actually fight.

"Or just don't talk s---. One of the two. I would even box. I wouldn't put $1 million of my money, but I would box Devin Haney. Just boxing rules, just to protect him. But he wouldn't simply just fight me. So don't talk s---."
Haney, who made about $4 million against Vasiliy Lomachenko, $6 million against Regis Prograis, and $35 million (via Boxing News) against Garcia, scoffed at O'Malley's $1 million offer, stating on social media, "I don't fight for a million dollars like you... let's do a boxing fight & give us a shot at making real money!"
O'Malley is currently out of action and will be for almost a year following hip surgery.
