Australian Jacob Malkoun has suffered a unanimous decision loss against American Brendan Allen at UFC 275, only the second loss of his professional MMA career.
This loss came despite Malkoun’s historic wrestling performance, which saw the Sydney native become the first-ever middleweight to land six or more takedowns in three consecutive fights.
With six takedowns landed, Jacob Malkoun is the first middleweight in UFC history to land 6+ takedowns in each of three consecutive fights. #UFC275

Malkoun found great success in his single-leg takedown of Allen throughout the three-round fight, but the judges ultimately believed he was not successful enough in his execution once he got the American to the ground.
For Allen, this win was his 19th professional victory, displaying an impressive mix of striking and wrestling prowess of his own, preventing Malkoun from putting him in too much danger on the canvas.
Robert Whittaker could only shake his head after teammate Jacob Malkoun lost a close decision to Brendan Allen. 🤦♂️
