Aaron Judge is the hottest player on the hottest team in MLB, but the Yankees slugger isn’t playing his best baseball - or so he says.
“I’m still trying to get hot,” Judge said Thursday (via the New York Post). “People keep talking about how well I’m doing, but I look at as I’m still trying to get consistent. I don’t feel like I’ve been consistent all year.”

Judge leads New York in batting average (.307) home runs (11) and RBIs (35). Prior to the Yankees’ recent rain-shortened game against the Nationals, Judge had at least one RBI in seven straight games and nine of his last 10.

Still, despite his impressive run production, Judge is second in MLB with 56 strikeouts (Joey Gallo, 61).
“If pitchers execute the right pitches on the corner or low at the knee or the very top of the strike zone, you’re never gonna have success off that,’’ Judge said of pitchers’ approach with him at the plate. “My main goal is to be a consistent part of this lineup and I feel at times, it could be better.”
New York (28-12) is still ahead of the Red Sox (30-14) in the AL East by a handful of percentage points and open a three-game road set against the Royals on Friday.
