White Sox manager Rick Renteria was taken to the hospital before Monday night's game against the Twins in Minneapolis, and will be hospitalized overnight, the team reported.

Renteria complained of being light-headed in the clubhouse and was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for precautionary reasons.

A team official said that tests revealed no problems. Renteria even left the hospital and went to Target Field during the game to collect his belongings before returning to the hospital.

Bench coach Joe McEwing served as manager for the game, an 8-5 Chicago win.

"Our thoughts and prayers were with him the whole evening," McEwing said (via MLB.com). "He's always in our mind. He's such an amazing leader and amazing person."

The 56-year-old Renteria is 113-172 in two seasons with the White Sox. The former MLB player posted a 73-89 mark in one season as the Cubs manager in 2014.
