Tim Tebow was quick to praise his mom after she said he should get the call to join the Mets in the big leagues.

Pam Tebow was at Los Angeles International Airport when TMZ asked her about her son earning a spot in Double-A's Eastern League All-Star Game and if he was ready to get the call-up from the Mets.

"We're partial, so we would vote for him to go up to the majors," Pam told TMZ ... "But, it's not up to us!"

When asked about the interaction before Wednesday's game, Tebow said he appreciated his mom's support while throwing a barb at TMZ.

“That was my mom trying to be sweet getting caught off guard by TMZ at the airport. I guess if that’s sophisticated journalism, then sure,” Tebow said Wednesday, via the Sun Sentinel.

“She’s just trying to be sweet and the good thing is my parents will always believe in me no matter what. I love that. Whether it’s my dad across the world in the Philippines right now or my mom getting caught off guard at the airport, they will always believe in me.”

Tebow served as the designated hitter for the Eastern Division in the Eastern League All-Star Game, going 1-for-4 with an opposite-field double.

With the Mets dealing with a depleted roster due to injuries and their likelihood of making the playoffs getting smaller and smaller, the idea of Tebow joining the team later in the season has been brought up.

But the Heisman winner said September isn't on his mind at the moment and that he needs to work on tangible tasks at hand.

“I think for me, I can’t worry about any of that,” Tebow said. “I have to stay focused on the process and not the maybes, not the hypothetical, not the what-ifs. I don’t think that’s a place that an athlete can live. I don’t think you can let your mind go into places like that.”
