New York entered Monday having lost its last two games to Philadelphia but rebounded with a 3-1 win over Arizona.

The Mets' offense was powered by rookie sensation Pete Alonso, who went 2 for 4 at the plate with two home runs and two RBIs.

New York also got a strong showing from Jacob deGrom, who tallied 11 strikeouts in seven innings of work while only giving up three hits.

The Diamondbacks' lone run of the night came off of a home run from Wilmer Flores in the fifth inning.

Arizona and the Mets are both battling for the second National League wild-card spot and this series is crucial for both teams. 

Studs of the Night

Atlanta's Josh Donaldson hit a home run and recorded three RBIs in the Braves' 7-2 win against the Phillies.

Yordan Alvarez went 2 for 5 and hit two home runs in the Astros' dominant 15-0 victory over the Athletics.

Dud of the Night

Cameron Maybin was hitless in four at-bats and struck out three times as the Yankees shut out the Red Sox, 5-0.

What's Next?

Braves (90-55) at Phillies (74-69) 7:05 p.m. ET — Atlanta has won nine of its last 10 games and will try to keep its hot streak going against a Philadelphia squad that still has a chance to break into the playoff picture. The Phillies are just a few games back from the Cubs in the National League wild-card standings.
