Chicago is on fire.

The Cubs picked up their 10th win in their last 11 games Thursday, a 4-1 victory over the Marlins, thanks in large part to another impressive offensive outing.

The team has homered in 15 straight games, matching its best run since the 2002 season. Its two best hitters exemplified that surge Thursday.

Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant, amid a 19-game on-base streak, smashed his sixth home run in 12 games, while first baseman Anthony Rizzo went deep for the sixth time in 11 games.

"Those guys have been unbelievable," Cubs pitcher Mike Montgomery said after the game, via MLB.com. "They've been the cornerstone of this team since I've been here, for a long time. To have them play as good as they are, it's why we're winning."

Studs of the Night

The Cardinals picked up their second win in eight games as the team scored 17 runs against the Pirates.

Josh Reddick hit a tiebreaking RBI single and made a game-saving catch in right field to help give the Astros a 4-2 win over the Rangers, their fifth victory in six games.

Duds of the Night

Cubs starter Yu Darvish walked six batters — one shy of a season high — in just four innings. He has now walked 11 over his past two starts. Montgomery pitched the final five innings in relief to earn the win.

Highlights

Reds third baseman Eugenio Suarez had a quick turnaround.

Angels first baseman/designated hitter Albert Pujols collected his 2,000th career RBI on a home run against the Tigers. He is just the third player in major league history to officially reach that mark.

What's Next

Yankees (22-15) at Rays (23-13) 7:10 p.m. ET — The Yankees have yet to face the AL East-leading Rays this year; they'll head to St. Petersburg after picking up their fourth win in their last five games. The Rays, meanwhile, failed to complete their sweep of the Diamondbacks on Wednesday but have every reason to believe they can stay in first place.
