MLB trade rumors: At least 4 teams have spoken with Mariners about acquiring Carlos Santana image

The Mariners seem to be shopping Carlos Santana.

Seattle has spoken with the Rays, Indians and Rockies about potentially dealing away the 32-year-old slugger, according to a report from The Athletic, which cites unidentified league sources.

The Marlins also checked in on Santana last week, a separate report from The Athletic says.

The Mariners acquired Santana, along with shortstop J.P. Crawford, from the Phillies earlier this month in exchange for infielder Jean Segura and a pair of relievers.

Santana, who spent his first eight MLB seasons with the Indians, slashed .229/.352/.414 with 24 home runs and 86 RBIs in 161 games for Philadelphia in 2018. He has two seasons and $40 million remaining on the three-year, $60 million deal he signed with the Phillies in Dec. 2017.

The Mariners have also traded away infielder Robinson Cano, closer Edwin Diaz and ace James Paxton this offseason.
