Josh Donaldson is heading to the Indians.

The Blue Jays have traded the 32-year-old third baseman to Cleveland, the team announced Friday. Donaldson was on a rehab assignment with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays.

The Yankees, Braves, Phillies and Cardinals were also interested in dealing for Donaldson, according to a report from TSN. He has been out since May 28 with a calf injury.

Donaldson has registered a .234/.333/.423 slash line in just 36 games this season. He has also hit five home runs and tallied 16 RBIs.

Donaldson, a three-time All-Star, has hit 179 home runs over his nine-year career with Toronto and the A’s.

The Indians entered play Friday with a 76-57 record. They hold a 14-game lead in the American League Central.
