David Freese is heading to the Dodgers.
The Pirates have traded the 35-year-old infielder to Los Angeles, the teams announced Friday. Pittsburgh acquired minor league infielder Jesus Manuel Valdez in the deal.

Freese has registered a .283/.337/.447 slash line in 93 games for the Pirates this season. He has also hit nine home runs and tallied 41 RBIs.
Freese spent the first five seasons of his career with the Cardinals and also played for the Angels. He holds a .274 batting average over his 10-year career.
The Dodgers finished play Saturday with 73-62 record. They trail the Diamondbacks by one game for first place in the National League West.
