The Diamondbacks have secured their veteran infielder.

The team announced Monday that it signed Eduardo Escobar to a three-year extension through the 2021 season.

Escobar was traded from the Twins to the Diamondbacks for three minor leaguers in July. The eight-year veteran was coming off a career year in 2017 when he registered a .254 batting average, hit 21 home runs and tallied 73 RBIs with Minnesota.

In 54 games with Arizona in 2018, he recorded a slash line of .268/.327/.444.

Escobar, 29, began his career with the White Sox when he was a September call-up in 2011.
