MLB hot stove: Brewers seriously interested in Craig Kimbrel, report says image

The Brewers are serious about bullpenning.

Milwaukee's talks with free-agent closer Craig Kimbrel are "pretty serious," according to Fancred Sports.

Kimbrel reportedly asked for a record-breaking six-year, $100 million deal in free agency this offseason, but he has not yet had any takers.

The Brewers had a top-5 bullpen in just about every category last year finishing fourth in WAR (6.6), third in K/9 (10.38), third in ground-ball percentage (46.8) and fifth in ERA (3.47), according to Fangraphs.

Adding Kimbrel, who sits 14th all time with 333 career saves, would make a great bullpen even better.
