The National League East could soon add another free-agent All-Star.

Atlanta and Washington both have interest in signing closer Craig Kimbrel, according to The Athletic.

The Braves would reportedly want more of a short-term deal while the Nationals would be willing to go long.

Washington has already lost a high draft pick with the signing of Patrick Corbin, and would lose another one if it was to agree to a contract with Kimbrel.

Both players were given qualifying offers by their respective teams, and organizations who sign such players must give up certain draft picks to get them.

Signing Kimbrel would be costly in both money and draft picks for the Nationals, but considering his track record, it may be worth it for Washington.

Kimbrel is reportedly looking for a deal in the six-year, $100-million range, which would be a record for a closer.
