Dallas Keuchel could be the next big free agent to sign a new contract.

The Astros and Padres are "staying in touch" with the 31-year-old starter’s agent, according to a report from The Athletic.

The two-time All-Star and 2015 Cy Young award winner has spent his entire seven-year career with Houston. He registered a 12-11 record and a 3.74 ERA in 34 starts with the Astros last season.

Keuchel said earlier this week he wasn’t hitting the “panic button” even though he was still unsigned in late February.

“I’m worried about getting myself ready and up to speed,” Keuchel said at the time. “I feel like I’m ahead of schedule compared to the last few years. At the same time, I’d like to get out there and meet new teammates or meet old teammates. When that time comes, it’ll be nice.”

The Padres inked star infielder Manny Machado to a 10-year, $300 million contract earlier this month. Meanwhile, Bryce Harper reportedly agreed to a 13-year, $330 million deal with the Phillies on Thursday.
