Mets right fielder Michael Conforto suffered a concussion in Thursday's loss to the Nationals and is expected to be placed on the injured list.
Conforto and Mets second baseman Robinson Cano were chasing a pop fly in shallow right in the fifth inning when they collided. Conforto fell to the ground and appeared to be out for a few seconds before getting unsteadily to his feet.

After manager Mickey Callaway and a trainer checked on him, he left the game and was replaced by Keon Broxton.
“He hit the ground pretty hard and was kind of dazed when I got out there,” Callaway told reporters afterward. “He was stumbling around a little bit.”
The Mets decided to send Conforto back to New York for further evaluation. The team opted to have him travel via train rather than risk a plane trip in his condition.
The Mets are expected to place Conforto on the seven-day IL, according to MLB's concussion policy.
Conforto had already hit a three-run home run in the game before his exit. He has nine home runs this season with 21 RBIs and a .927 OPS in 42 games.
The Mets had already lost left fielder Jeff McNeil in the third inning when he left with lower abdominal tightness.
