The Mets are hiring ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball lead analyst Jessica Mendoza.
Mendoza will assume a role in the Mets' front office in player evaluation. She will also focus on roster construction, technological advancement and health and performance.

She will continue her work on Sunday Night Baseball.
"Jessica is incredibly well respected throughout the industry and we are excited to bring her into the organization," Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen said in a release. "She is a world-class athlete and experienced television analyst with an extremely high baseball IQ. We are confident that she will help us in our efforts to win now and in the future."
Mendoza, 38, joins Haley Alvarez, who is the Athletics' scouting coordinator, and Kim Ng, the senior vice president of baseball operations for MLB, as women working prominently at the highest levels of baseball.
Mendoza has served as ESPN's lead analyst on Sunday Night Baseball since 2016. She was the first female analyst in the booth for ESPN's College World Series coverage in 2015.
Later that year, she became the first female to commentate a major league game in the history of ESPN when she called a Cardinals-Diamondbacks game in August.
Mendoza has an extensive background in baseball and softball dating back to high school when she was named Los Angeles' Player of the Year in 1998.
She went on to play softball at Stanford,where she was named an All-American in all four years with the program. She then won a gold medal with the U.S. women's softball team in Athens in 2004 and a silver medal in Beijing in 2008.
She also played softball professionally in 2005 and then again from 2010-2012.
